BotswanaPost Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Cornelius Ramatlhakwane, was appointed Vice Chairperson of the Pan African Postal Union (PAPU) CEO Postal Forum as the first Vice Chairperson of the forum in June 2021 for a 2-year tenure.
PAPU is a specialized agency of the African Union (AU) whose purpose is to spearhead the development of postal services in Africa.
As a member of the Executive Committee of this organisation, Botswana will benefit from being party to an international community to create synergies and build relations that would in the long run benefit BotswanaPost and the nation.
The appointment will also place the region, Southern African Postal Agency (SAPOA), and BotswanaPost strategically augmenting participation and driving strategic relations with other international postal organisations.
The appointment will further capacitate BotswanaPost in its digitization transformation agenda to benchmark and exchange experiences on the importance of transforming African posts to become leading logistics players at a global level.
This appointment also enhances BotswanaPost and by extension SAPOA’s opportunity to participate at global forums including memberships to Universal Postal Union (UPU) decision making committees such as the Postal Operations Council (POC), and Council of Administration (CA).
