Saleshando who is also Member of Parliament for Maun West quashed Masisi’s address saying it “confirmed that there is no plan in place to fight COVID-19”.

“The President needs to appreciate that the nation is in a pensive and uneasy mood. Relatives are queuing up to collect lifeless bodies from mortuaries, others are in ques for admission to non-available hospital beds.”

Saleshando proposed “We need to come together as a nation to protect ourselves against a common enemy”.

He said there was need for the nation to be reassured that politicians from across the political divide, trade unionists, the business community, community-based organizations as well as the clergy are holding hands to save the nation.

“When the nation comes together to pray, it should not be praying for a miracle, but for the success of a plan that has benefitted from the wisdom of all the leaders”
